Watchmen

I just recently saw Zack Snyder's adaptation of Watchmen. It is based on the graphic novel of the same name by Alan Moore(V For Vendetta and League of Extra Ordinary Gentlemen).I have to say Snyder did a great job of bringing it to life. For more than 20 years of waiting and attempting to make the movie,I can say the wait was worth it.The film follows the Dark Knight in liberating the comic book movies. It's a super hero-Anti hero film. The film showcases a perfect blend of sound, effects, action, plot and a breath-taking visuals that really brings the feel of the original graphic novel.Though Snyder didn't stick to the original story in the novel,he still brings closer feel to that story. The film brings not only effects but well talented actors.Especially Jackie Earle Haley who played Rorschach. He brought him to life.A little downside is his grunted voice whom we may compare to Christian Bale's Batman.I also loved the music.Music for that time,1985,especially "The Sound of Silence".It really matched the scene. But I didn't quite like the use of "Ride of the Valkyries" in the sequence of the Vietnam War.The movie is full of dark stories of heroes and their trials .Like Batman and Spiderman who always ask the question if what their doing hurts the ones they love or do the world really need them. The novel asks the question "Who watches the Watchmen?"The film shows us what that question meant.Who watches those we depend our lives to and are they really the right ones.Alan Moore didn't approve of making this into film saying that it will not present the right mood and purpose of the novel.Well,I can say that he should watch the Watchmen. It faithfully delivers and will be loved ny the novel fans as well as bring much curiousity to the new generation.I give it an 9 out of 10.
